Lee and I met on a system called "Q-link", for Commodore computers, in
August of 1988. I lived in Hershey, PA at the time, and he lived in
Detroit, MI. We met in a chat room, and seemed to hit it off right away.
We talked online and on the phone for one month, when I decided to hop a
bus to Detroit to meet him (without ever exchanging photos!) Needless to
say, meeting him in person only confirmed the feelings I knew I had for
him. We spent the weekend together, and I was in tears all the way home
on the bus (a very long, 17 hour cry!!) Once I was home, I realized I
couldn't live without him, and he felt the same way. He asked me to move
out to Detroit with him, and 3 weeks later (late September 1988), I did.
He proposed 2 weeks after I moved in, and we were married in October of
1989. We will be celebrating our 8th anniversary this year. We have one
child, Amanda, who is 6. It all seems so un-real, as I look back over
the years, but it was definitely worth it all...
