Marie and Rick

Hello!  My name is Marie, and my sweetie's name is Rick.  Yes we did meet online, or should I say we were introduced online.  I had placed a personal ad on one of the many personals websites.  A good friend of Rick's, a lady named Pat saw my ad, as well as a link to a photo of myself.  She was immediately impressed and thought I would be a perfect match for Rick. It helped that we lived only about 40 miles apart!!

Apparently though Rick was initially not as convinced, and it took her about a month of trying to get him to respond. He finally sent me a short note with his number.  I decided to respond via email, though.  After several days of emails, HE called ME...and we talked for almost 2 hours!!  This was on a Tuesday.  I Was interested, as was he, and I said we could exchange a few more emails, to which he responded that he could not wait to meet me, and we made a date to meet on the following Sunday, in a town midway between ours.

We shared a great lunch, and even took a drive in the country ( a favorite pastime).  Come to find out that we grew up in the same area, knowing many of the same people..we figure out paths may have even crossed at one time.

This event was in June of 1998.  In March of this year he moved into my house and life is great.  We are both in our 40's and have had some not too great relationships.  But this one is definitely a keeper.  Hopefully next year will bring an announcement of a wedding.  We are planning to move to the country some time in the spring.

We are both Big Beautiful people, and love each other as well as the interesting way in which we met.
