what happened to all the naafa and bbw events?

I agree with Screaming Chicken that you can spread yourself too thin: you have to pick your fights carefully. On the other hand, we are all fighting for the same basic thing -- civility -- so it's important that we keep in touch with what others are doing on other fronts. T here will be times...

    I Need Some Help

I'd go back to 1986, look you up, and we'd both buy a hell of a lot of Microsoft stock.

    Favorite ethnic foods?

Ethiopian wins my vote: specifically, yemsir wat.

What year or era do you miss most?

The Cretaceous: no television, no robo-calls (no calls at all!), and a person could really get close to nature. Maybe not too close, though. It's a damn shame about that meteorite.:(

Dwes's Depressingly Dillapidated and Decrepit Dungeon Domocile

Truly a fable for our time.

    ODFFA's Antics & Oddities Thread

And you know it will happen again. So practice smiling sadly and quietly saying, "The apple never falls far from the tree, does it?"

    What made you LOL today?

Beauty may be only skin deep, but it still shines through alluvial deposits.

MattB's Mundane, Morbid, yet Magically Mischievous, Mansion

It sounds like it's worth a look. You might want to take along a bottle of holy water, though, just in case.

The thread for random single confessions!

    It's not crappy; it's cheesy.

What are you happy about today?

Glad to hear the good news! Guinea pigs are angels unaware...

Certainly no stripper in Oklahoma would say that. For one thing, she wouldn't want to have to explain what "shoes" are...

    FA Pride Flag

It's quite attractive, but ... shouldn't the flag be round?

    What made you LOL today?

Or, for that matter a treat. Somewhere out there is a planet inhabited by creatures without taste buds.

What Are You Happy About Today? Part 2

On the other hand, as an FA I can't help but agree with Mae West: "Too much of a good thing can be wonderful." :)

The thread for random single confessions!

Yes, indeed! You have been missed.

What are you happy about today?

As it shouldn't. If you tell someone she's made a mistake, you need to show why it's wrong and what she should have done. The job of the teacher is to get the pupil to the point where she no longer needs the teacher.

The thread for random single confessions!

Sad and scary indeed! But I'm not sure changing the laws will have much effect. Here's why: 1.) I'm too young for Prohibition, but I remember the 55 mph speed limit, which was equally ineffective. For a law to be enforceable, people have to be willing to obey it. Americans equate guns...

Lowering Cholesterol and reducing strain on liver?

I can attest to this! It's gotten to where I'd rather snack on a piece of fruit or a handful of nuts than anything sugary. :eat2:

Lowering Cholesterol and reducing strain on liver?

It looks as if your significant other has two separate problems: (1) high cholesterol and (2) metabolic syndrome (liver). I've had to deal with both at various times. The cholesterol problem may not be due to his diet: our body makes its own cholesterol, and some people make more than they...

Is it just me, or is social media itself the problem?

I enjoy it, too, but for other reasons. When people cease to believe in the effectiveness of non-violent protest, they generally look for something else to believe in. So far, automatic weapons and suicide bombing seem to be leading contenders for the position.:(
