What 'derp' / 'doh' moment did you have today?

I can't say I ever found you difficult to understand. I hate hearing my voice played back... Its missing all the extra bass my ears pick up because blowing noise out my facehole makes my head vibrate... ... so it sounds weird and high pitched... I understand in the abstract that my voice is...

    Halloween Costumes!

I've decided I'm being a Drycleaner for Halloween. I'm just going to wear my regular clothes. If anyone asks 'Where's the costume?' I come back with 'Where's the ticket?' ... We were going to do a Red Riding-hood and Were-Lumberjack thing... But the haunted forest event we're going to has a...

    Attitude of Gratitute

As Tad noted, There's assorted variations on Harvest festivals and Thanksgiving services throughout this time of year, though (as loopy noted) they're mostly a religious event in the UK without an attached secular holiday. However, the half term holiday that scottish schools get in...

What are you nerds reading these days?

It's a great read and has so much research behind it... If you've not noted them yet... skip to the back for the (almost) panel by panel historical notes, they make for some interesting parallel reading.

It's not all it's cracked up to be. Peeing standing up is all well and good until the damn thing switches itself to some random, hitherto unknown or utterly unpredictable setting. Even if i wanted to I couldn't rig it to jet at 90 degrees to the way it is pointed, do twin sprinkles in opposite...

What are you happy about today?

eggs? not on my budget... I mean... a breville or similar toasted sandwich maker. Four slices of the cheapest white bread in the supermarket, a smear of marmite and a couple of tablespoons of supermarket value brand baked beans (dressed up with some seasonings for sake of variety), and...

What are you happy about today?

Years ago, before I moved home to work the homestead, My folks would give me a care package any time something was slaughtered. So there would be a couple packets of steaks, some roasting joints, chops, ground beef etc... and it would go into the freezer to be saved for a special occasion...

Go you. It's a useful knot Moreso if you learn to tie it three or four different ways so you can have several on a doubled length of cord.

I liked Carringer's Parasol Protectorate too... as you say, unapologetic fluff, the prequel and sequel series are fun too.

What are you nerds reading these days?

Recently... Stilletto by Daniel O'Malley... Second in the series that started with 'The Rook' The original was a strong premise/setting with a few weaknesses in the writing. Stilletto was a worthwhile followup, it built on the setting, developed the characters, despite giving them a back...

I'm not gonna preach, you know why you packed it in before. Most if not all of that still stands. You can put them down, or just stop buying them any time you like. You also have more options wrt what you smoke now, so you can keep the habit and ditch at least some of the residual reek.

    Event!!! Drunk Teamspeak Night

Its just a ball (or wee slice) of haggis dipped in batter and deep fried. it's fairly standard chip shop fare... In fact it's how i usually introduce in-laws to haggis... it's cheap, it's in bite sized pieces.. everyone can try a bit... and no-one is left looking at an entree they can't...
