Everyday Food Pics - Part II - keep snapping!! :D

This is how the baked chicken turned out IdahoCyn... The 'stuff' in the bottom of the pan started as a layer of 1/2" diced sweet onion and several cloves of garlic finely chopped and tossed with a little olive oil. Then mostly in the middle I put celery stalks, quartered 'shrooms, a...

What's on the dinner table tonight?

I roasted it and dang Wilbur, the hubby says it's the best I ever turned out. As good as FRIED he said!  The leftovers will go in the soup pot and I did take some pix which I'll put up tonight after work now the battery on the cam is recharged. Instead of putting the veggies and...

Counting them chickens awful early Spanks. A couple of key injuries on your team and all of a sudden you're in deep doodoo, just like the Seahawks are now with their starting quarterback and three other starters out for the last two weeks. Hasselback out with a broken rib, Jones, Tatupu, Wilson...

    What's your latest kick?

Put it on toast, frost a cookie with it, eat it out of the jar, stir it into a hot drink or heat and drizzle over ice cream. And yes, it could conceivably be used as a sex toy. LOL

    We Love Our Cats Thread!

Here's a picture of our part Coon Buster, which most of you have probably already seen. And his Dimensions worthy housemate Jezebel (the Queen of Quite a Lot) with catnip all over her head and chair. I think the nip is why her eyes glow that shade of green. LOL.

She's GORGEOUS! And at least part Maine Coon I'll bet. And Bucky is royal Mossy, as expected.

    What's your latest kick?

Roasted chicken. During my six months of kitchen exile I had forgotten how wonderful a simple, roasted chicken is.

    2009 NFL Thread

I picked Cincy in my pool. Didn't everybody? Not a lot of Pittsburgh fans in this neck of the woods and Roethlisberger is vastly overrated. ;)

What's on the dinner table tonight?

Hmmmm. I have a nice, plump chicken. I have about two hour to decide if I want to roast it or turn it into a big pot of chicken and noodles. Got onions, celery and carrots for pot....decisions, decisions. eta: Maybe I'll roast it and turn the leftovers into chicken and noodles.

It's a freakin' game people. I dislike hometown fans who root for other teams but totally understand it if you're from there/a transplant (unless you're a Yankee fan, no quarter granted there ). But harassing children? Hurting people? Finding amusement in watching someone fall down...

    Farm Town nerdiness

The first size upgrade (14x14) increases your growing area by what percentage? 1/2? Double? Is it worth just holding out a few more levels and a few more thousands to get say an 18x18 instead (and not have to save that $20,000 over again) or do you have to buy them in order? Obsessed? Moi?

What's on the dinner table tonight?

Sirloin tip roast with lots of little slivers of garlic poked in it before slow roasting (300°) to medium rare, mashed yukons and gravy and corn sauteed in butter and cream. Wanted asparagus but the stuff Costco had today was awful.

    Your saddest Recession meal?

I don't want sausage grease, I want the sausage! That's how we make it. Brown off the sausage, stir in the flour and let cook a bit then add the milk. Cook and stir until thickened and season to taste. Gotta have the meat in it though.

What's on the dinner table tonight?

If you want to eat it tonight I can't help but if you have time put it in a crockpot or slow oven and dump in enough of your favorite salsa or BBQ sauce to cover. Let it cooks until you can shred it with forks and then use it in all kinds of yummies. Sandwiches, enchiladas, burritos, by it's...

    Immortality

Maybe, maybe not. We'll never know for sure will we. I would like to see this technology improve the quality of the life we already have without trying to make us immortal. 80 or 100 years of healthy, happy life? Pain free and without the threat of things like cancer and Alzheimer's? That could...

    Your saddest Recession meal?

Yeah, butter in gravy is wrong but all the gravies I ever had over biscuits had meat in the gravy or under it, not just sauce.
