"The ships hung in the sky in much the same way that bricks don't." Douglas Adams, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy p.s. Couldn't rep without spreading a little more love, so ... awesome idea!

What's on the dinner table tonight?

This is heaven! I love rogan josh, and for those of you in the States, Penzey's makes a rogan Josh spice blend that really good. I prefer making it at home so it's more mild than in restaurants.

Well, chocolate of course. But I also find nutrient dense, balanced meals are really calming. And my childhood comfort food is potato and leek soup with dill bread.

What is making you SAD right now...

Me, too. He was brilliant, and it is such a tragic kind of loss. My dad looked remarkably like him and died suddenly the same year Patch Adams was released. Even some of his character's mannerisms in the film reminded me of my dad. It was years before I could see his films again, but then they...

    The Root Beer Thread

Well, the last of the root beer from our soda shop field trip is officially gone. My nephew had the Gale's with cinnamon, ginger and vanilla, and I tried a bit of it. It's an impressive root beer, but I much prefer the WBC Goose Island Chicago Style one. And the butterscotch!

    Random health related "confessions"

A couple years ago I was reading an article in which a cardiologist was giving advise and recommended digitizing your medical records and sharing medical information anonymously online. It's one of the best pieces of advise I've heard, and I though I'd pass it along.

The last movie you watched... and score out of ten - Part 2

Begin Again. 8/10. It reminds me a little bit of Once, and it's nice to see a movie with an actual story.

    Bacon

This is an excellent question, Doc. :) I'm a fan of the 30/30/30 theory. This only includes the filling and not the bread, which is lovely when it's thin and lightly toasted so it doesn't tear up the roof of your mouth. I like brioche and multi grain equally well for this application. In case...

    Change room compliments?

Exactly. I like flattery as much as the next person, but I value sincerity even more. When I'm trying something on, I want to know if it looks good. If I ask a sales consultant for their opinion, I'm hoping I'll get an honest one, but I know I may not. A recording in the fitting room is like...
