Single and/or childless in your 30s

I am 37 and single/no kids. Some days I'm ok with this. Some days not so much. I never intended to be single at 37. In fact, I always thought I'd marry and have kids fairly young. When I was 20 something and stupid I wanted a Pitt-Jolie type brood. Now I think one or two would be nice. Sometimes...

    Oscar nomination - Melissa McCarthy!

They tend to like an underdog in the Best Supporting roles. I don't think she'll win. I think it will be Octavia but you never know.

The Thread for Random Single Confessions Part ... I don't know what Part

There is a stink bug in my bedroom. I hear him but don't see him and its driving me nuts. Random moments of bizzt bizzt that make me jump and look around for the little beasty saying things like, "I'll get you, my stinky. And your little buggy friends too!" Infuriating! I've named him so that...

How fat do you like 'em?

Nothing wrong with the question. It's the care and thought that goes into the answer that matters.

    2011 NFL Thread

Oh they'll be comin' hungry, the Pats. I have no doubt about that. Once again it will come down to Defense. I know the Patsies have struggled with D but I think they'll be working hard for a win against the Giants. We're not the favorites but we're not the underdogs we were in 07 so we don't...

Anyone else make their husbands hide the goodies?

I'm not married but I play a similar game with myself. If I buy a box or a package of something I feel compelled to finish it. Not always in one go but in at least two or three shots (three being very good resistance for me). If I'm sitting and nibbling I'll just keep nibbling until it is done...

    January 2012 Iron Foodee Challenge

*I don't have a picture but I have made this recipe numerous times. It is always a hit and so easy to make! This cake is pretty to look at (all white and softly fluffy looking, the perfect "winter" cake) and so very, very yummy (rich and creamy and deliciously textured with the coconut). I love...

    Random FOODEE Thoughts and Confessions

Hi, I'm Nancy and I have an ice cream addiction. It is freezing cold and some days I'm wearing three shirts but still I want ice cream. The other night I finished off the last half of a half gallon while wrapped in a blanket and shivering. That's an addict right there. My latest craze are...

    Help! Mom's Meatloaf

Thanks everyone! Well, I tried it and it was so-so. The meatloaf was fine, baked to perfection but it lacked something favor-wise. I'm pretty sure I didn't add enough of something. My Mom was the type of cook to throw a dash of this or a pinch of that into whatever she was making and never...

    Help! Mom's Meatloaf

LOL Jim, my goal is to make it like my mother's. We never made meatloaf sandwiches but that does sound yummy. If there are leftovers I'll give it a try!

    Help! Mom's Meatloaf

Thank you, Smithnwesson! So, it looks like from the recipes I'm reading that it is pretty standard to use one egg per 1 1/2 to two pounds of meat. Then baked on 350 for one hour (or a little more). Keep the helpful hints coming! I'm trying this tonight!

    Help! Mom's Meatloaf

My Mom passed away recently and along with so many other things I cherish I miss her cooking. Like my Grandmother before her my Mom didn't really use or write down her recipes. So, now I am trying to recreate some of her standards by memory. I tried to make her turkey and stuffing for Christmas...
