What you do and dont like to see in stories

Excellant comments, but some are not really gripes IMHO, but preferences. You've illustrated that there is a vast array of fiction styles and genres on this site. I am the first to admit that no one's stories will appeal to everyone, including my own.

What you do and dont like to see in stories

Not a pet peeve, but food for thought. I think a lot of unfinished stories result from people vastly underestimating how difficult it really is to come with an original and entertaining finished product. First and foremost, it should be a real story, with a plot, a beginning and an end...

What you do and dont like to see in stories

That's my biggest one. I don't even start reading story anymore until all the parts are there. I think a closely related one are multi-part stories that the writer takes too long to finish. There are some on this site that have literally taken years to finish (or not). If the installments are 3...

    What are good "long" stories?

Many of mine are quite long. Whether they are good us up to you to decide. The Fat and the Furious could possibly be the longest story on this site. Not sure though. Just search for maltesefalcon and you'll get them here.

What comes first? Plot or characters?

While I would agree that WG stories have an inevitable plot cycle due to the nature of the story I would disagree the end is a forgone conclusion. I realized the potential trap right away and have tried to craft my work as a story first and foremost that has a wg theme. None of us is...

What comes first? Plot or characters?

I develop the characters of course and figure out a basic story outline. Then I work on the ending. Its always the most important part. The rest of the story should complement and steer toward it. Once you have a good ending, you will know when the story has all the components required and...

    Hansel and Gretel stories

Probably due to the fact that if the protagonists are children it is against the board rules here. (And a bit creepy.) If they are adults, the whole witch/gingerbread house thing becomes somewhat silly.

    Stories with Revenge

Navy Seals kill Bin Laden Tough to top that one.

    Lactation and wg?

You might try the Breast Expansion Archive. They have quite a few in that vein. Not sure if the Overflowing Bra is still running but they had some good stories too. This site is more weight oriented. Any of the other let's call them...special interests will be more of an afterthought.

This is how I do it -- how do you do it?

I find first person narrative to be difficult. Any scene or event that the protagonist is not in will be difficult to fold into the tale. A good example of how this can go wrong is Saving Private Ryan. The whole film revolves around his flashback to events in June 1944. Everything up to the...

This is how I do it -- how do you do it?

Well said. That's it in a nutshell. Just because it's a special interest story, it still must be above all-a story! It should have a beginning, a middle, an end, proper plotline flow and reasonable character development. The best will have all these to some extent. Oh, and grammar...
