    Wait Watchers

I attempted to define the word frumpy as it related to her, not to the guys in the picture. My only reference to the guys was to show the similarity in color choices between the photographer from the project, and what some young people are wearing today. Again, for the record, I don't see...

    Wait Watchers

You may not be unusual, but my feelings evidently aren't either. Her kickstarter campaign has actually been overfunded with supporters. I get it, the next comments will be made about how all these people are suckers. For me, the bottom line is that anything that calls attention to fat...

    Wait Watchers

It's not my job (or anyone else) to give fashion advice to anyone, regardless of size. I will say that the color combinations are no different than what many people wear these days. Can we offer the same criticism to the guys in the following pic, one of which is wearing the exact same soft...

    Wait Watchers

I've seen similar comments posted in other forums that I participate in. I disagree. In our world today, most fat people do everything they can to "hide" themselves from society. They select clothes that "blend" so to not call attention to themselves. The real world is not a BBW Bash...

    Wait Watchers

I saw the same thing, and found it annoying as well. I did point that out in the comments section, though there are so many comments made in that article that even if I looked, I probably wouldn't be able to find it.

From the photographer herself... I don't think she's looking for anyone to assume that there's fat hate going on. I think she's just looking to get people to engage in dialogue about it, in hopes that some may recognize it for what it is.

    Wait Watchers

Solid opportunity for activism here. Weight bias is something that gets little attention, mostly because most people (just like other prejudices) don't like to own up to their own feelings about others. I'm friends with Haley on Facebook. She has a GoFundMe campaign to raise enough money to...

Finding acceptance in a world looking for acceptance

Over the years, I've learned that the last place you should be looking for acceptance is in the size acceptance community. I went a similar route over the years, and found it frustrating, and not rewarding. I might add that I've also been quite outspoken over the past 4-5 years, criticizing...

Describing "Fat" in a way that is decent and preserves the dignity of others

We have these descriptive words.......tall, short, thin, fat. Interesting how only the word fat (to a lesser extent short) have a negative connotation. In the case of short vs. fat, it's rare that someone assigns aesthetic distaste, or claims an unhealthy life as a result of being short...

    So who owns Dimensions now?

For all any of us know, it could be the mods, or perhaps one of them, or someone connected to them. Or it could be an outside concern. Recently, a company introduced themselves in the forum, and said the following: That thread can be found here...

Dr. Albert J. Stunkard, Destigmatizer of Fat, Dies at 92

Of course, leave it to the Times to attempt to stigmatize within the article about Dr. Stunkard, a leader in obesity destigmatization.

Horrible Fattist Rant and Epic Rebuttal by Blogger

An even more appropriate rebuttal. http://fiercefatties.com/2014/07/11/douche-shaming/

Horrible Fattist Rant and Epic Rebuttal by Blogger

What makes it more interesting is the author of the hate filled article has made her career off of telling women to not fall into stereotypes to define their self worth (thanks, Joy.....). With that said, either her career, or the fattist editorial is a lie. I wonder which is....

    Adam Richman & Fat Hate

Apparently he's at it again. This time, there are some triggering statements as well as calling a woman a C***, and telling another to die. Perhaps it would make a difference to some of you if the blogger who called attention to this is a woman, rather than a dude like me...

How do men really feel about overweight women?

It's a very honest & forthright answer, but this post is coming from someone who has been with larger women for a good portion of my adult life. How do I feel? I feel committed.........committed to working for size acceptance so that there IS no social stigma attached, so that perhaps women...

I want to say that I will miss Monique posting her blog entries in Dimensions. While we didn't always all agree, she did get people to think and react. This blog is personal. It's an anniversary blog of sorts.... http://thenatural54.wordpress.com/2014/06/08/growth-this-ones-personal/

    Passing of a fellow Dimmer

I am saddened by the loss of a dear friend. Though Mo and I never met, we shared a lot over the past several years. She'd been through so much both emotionally & physically. Her positive energy and upbeat attitude always brought a smile to my face. My condolences to her friends and family.
