Everyday Food Pics - Part II - keep snapping!! :D

Onion, pepper, and mushrooms is the cure for everything :) "Experimental" coffee cake this morning. Instead of adding walnuts as usual, I added a layer of homemade granola. Not terrible, but not as good as with the walnuts.

Everyday Food Pics - Part II - keep snapping!! :D

More southern café food. And I'm often posting pics of cocktails and talking about drinking on the porch, so thought I'd throw in a photo of the view from the porch during the cocktail hour yesterday.

    The daily exercise report thread!!

Still working on getting back in the groove. Just couldn't seem to focus, but did a mile on the treadmill.

    Happiness is...

Nice thread. Thank you for the reminder. Best fish name ever! Happiness is snuggling up in blankets, cat in lap, book in hand, and a cup of Earl Grey at hand (maybe with a little Irish Mist).

Everyday Food Pics - Part II - keep snapping!! :D

Glad you kept the weather up there and we only got a bit of sleet down here. I am damned tired of this winter! I made every way chicken salad. I typically make chicken salad a number of different ways, but decided to combine them all. BEST CHICKEN SALAD EVER! Cubed roasted chicken breast...

What's on the dinner table tonight?

I've got the oven going to roast some chicken for multiple meals, so I'm roasting a bunch of veggies at the same time for dinner tonight: Cabbage, yellow squash, and asparagus.

    The daily exercise report thread!!

1.5 miles / 36 minutes / 4 minute cool down on the treadmill, followed by dodging crazy people at the grocery store since we have "winter weather" in the forecast again.

Gym Bullies: Don't make fun of me!

Saw something awesome at the gym today. I was pushing along on the treadmill and there was a 60ish fellow on the treadmill in front of me who had obviously been at it for a while. I could see his miles, and when he hit the two mile mark he started clapping. Folks looked at him like he had two...

Gym Bullies: Don't make fun of me!

I go out of my way to make eye contact and smile at folks at the gym. Taking up space without apology. I don't care if folks stare; they'll see a fat chick living. If I caught someone invading my privacy by sneaking a phone pic, I'd likely give them something to see and hear.

    It's Not Me, It's You

I no longer tolerate gossip, drama, or negativity. Life is too short. I'll also put down books and turn off movies pretty fast if they aren't worth my time.

Everyday Food Pics - Part II - keep snapping!! :D

Roasted is the best way ever to cook it. Rub with just a little olive oil and salt. It's crispy. Also, try nuking whole freshly washed okra in a ziplock bag slightly open for 30 - 60 seconds. Just long enough for it to steam to bright green. Okra is slimey because it gets overcooked.

They were incredible. Besides the red velvet and carrot cake, we had banana pudding, butterscotch, and lemonade.

"The Walking Dead"...(to my fellow zombie lovers)

It bothers me that Beth's hair is always clean. It also bothers me that they dyed Daryl's hair that weird dark color. Obviously I had plenty of time to review hair during the episode.
