Today I sit here inside my head,
filled with images from books I've read,
When suddenly an idea comes to my mind,
Flowing like a trail which curls and winds.
I look down at this point to my feet,
A rose lay there whose smell so sweet,
Brings a thought floating to the top,
Making all of my thoughts just stop.
I re-live that vivid memory,
Of sitting under tall willow tree,
When slowly there came a sound,
Of trumpets blaring, then of hounds,
Leaping bounding through the air,
I catch a glimpse of something rare,
Her eyes of the palest hue of blue,
Her graceful song sung right on cue.
This song I'm about to tell,
Is the one she sang like a bell,
Ringing with such perfection,
It caught my mind's own inflection.
"From far away I've come this day,
With a message which I must say,
In the form of song and rhyme,
You see there is so little time..."
"When hound doth bark and tall towers break,
When the land doth rock and shake,
There will come a man whose heart is true,
Who will bring salvation to all of you!"
"His coming will not be grand,
His tidings will seem most bland,
If you understand his message then,
You will be saved in the end!"
"Then will come to this great land,
A woman whose lovely hand,
Will wield the sword of shining light,
Smiting darkness with its might!"
"And once peace has come again,
There will come an age old friend,
In her eyes you'll be renewed,
And so in yours, if your love is true!"
And so I sit here to this day,
My thoughts have caught my far away,
All of these has come to pass,
Just as she said they would at last.
The man of heart most true,
Has shared his message with me and you,
Though most plain it might be,
We must consider it to be free.
"Be kind to all humanity,
And all creation that you see,
Live in this very moment when,
Life is the most precious gift I send!"
Then came woman strong and pure,
She showed as all what was in store,
For those who failed and who stood tall,
She fought for everyone, one and all!
"Slain are all the violent things,
Which flew like fangs on devils wings,
They will never so much as reappear,
When you keep your virtue near!"
Then the woman came once again,
The first who came with song to send,
Among those of us with open ears,
And minds which hoped to comprehend!
I walk up to her so reverendly,
My bow deep with solemn glee,
Her laughter echoed through the hall,
She took my hand and stood up tall.
"My dearest bard, I have come again,
Last time I gave to you my blessing,
This time I come for a more important thing,
I hope you mind will soar on eagle's wing!"
She told me of the long worn trail,
Which she traveled with shoe and sail,
Wandering the massive idle lands,
Spread the message by mouth and hand.
Yet here she was, it was mind boggling,
Still her praises I continued to sing,
From the day she'd come, till she came once more,
A thought occured to me, it scared me to my core...
Yet this thought I was pondering,
Had a gloriously joyous ring,
She was the 'old friend' from back when,
And here she was just as then.
I realized now why my heart was beating,
Pounding and pounding like it lost its seating,
And was standing in my chest because,
It was giving a round of massive applause.
Here she was, my love, so dear,
And I didn't even see her,
Before that day, on that path,
The years countless, I could not do the math.
So I brought her close tears running wild,
In streams and rivers from both our eyes,
We'd found each other, oh how roads bend,
I stand here, in her arms as I cry.
Then I awaken with a start,
My dreams slowly they depart,
Like the leftovers of last night,
They disappear by first light.
And so I sit here just awake and thinking,
This feeling I have still slowly sinking,
Into my wearily conscious mind,
Of the story, the tale I did find.
So here it is for all of you,
I hope you like it, for it is true,
As much as any dream can be,
From what one can make of their insanity.
