How can the Congress pass this clearly unconstitutional law? The Citizens United case is a debatable ruling by the US Supreme court, but the “cure” is worse.

In order to gain passage the NRA, Sierra Club and big unions were given exemptions from the disclosure requirements in this bill. If it becomes law does any one doubt that other public interest groups and big business will challenge this law on both First Amendment grounds of freedom of speech and the equal protection clause of the US Constitution?

There is also the lack of logic in the bill. The Disclose Act is designed to “fix” the outcome of the Supreme Court ruling in Citizens United. Many feel the election will be flooded with big money from big business, big unions and powerful interest groups. In order the gain passage of this bill some of the biggest groups are granted exemptions. The very groups this bill aims to curb. Silly!
