How about some banding together to try to make some change?

As everyone knows, Old Navy pulled their plus size clothing from stores (seemingly to the chagrin of many) in 2007. While the selection online has grown, one still has to pay shipping and there is the ever-lingering sense of alienation. Why is it okay for smaller people to shop in public, but not the fat community? During a phone call to Old Navy some time ago, I got to talking with the (very nice) woman on the phone, who wore Old Navy's plus line herself. She told me that Old Navy's plus line is their biggest source of revenue.

So, why have we effectively been "banned" from the stores? If we give them so much income, shouldn't we get more respect? Old Navy would be wise to maybe make an Old Navy Plus store or something to that effect. As their sizing is wonky at times, it would be great to be able to go to a store and try things on, right?

This won't happen, though, unless enough people want it and express that to the company. So, I think maybe we could make some headway if enough of us call them daily and write letters to the company, telling them how we feel about this subject (assuming you all agree with what I'm saying here).

I also humbly request this NOT be moved to Clothing/Fashion. This is an activism issue, it just deals with clothing. This needs to be where everyone can see it and has the chance to act on it. This is more than clothing-- it's a fat acceptance issue, and therefore relevant to the main board.

ETA: Males are included in this. Call on behalf of a spouse/girlfriend, or just the cause itself. I think everyone should get involved.
