Just got done listening to the Top 100 of 1979, all of em. Some highlights....

100..."Soul Man" Blues Brothers....very well done and the all-star band is unbeatable

95....."Ain't No Stoppin Us Now" McFadden and Whitehead....R & B songs like this were casualties (at that time) of the otherwise pleasing Disco era

89...."Broken Hearted Me" Anne Murray....I always thought she skillfully straddled Pop and Country

84...."Good Girls Don't" the Knack....wow they sure fell off the face of the earth, but I love the harmonica

70...."What You Won't Do For Love" Bobby Caldwell....I remember when this record first came out, it was featured on a heart-shaped disc. Having gone from boy to man, my voice can no longer hit the high notes on this one ;)

61...."I Want Your Love" Chic....I always loved the guitar work of Nile Rogers and Bernard Edwards wherever it turned up, Sister Sledge, Diana Ross, etc

60...."You're Only Lonely" J.D. Souther....he is a great singer seemingly patterned after the great Roy Orbison, especially this tune

53...."Lonesome Loser" the Little River Band....talk about underrated bands

52...."When You're In Love With A Beautiful Woman" Dr. Hook....maybe it's just an ego problem..problem is I've been burned before....hehe

39...."Sail On" Commodores....'nuff said

35...."Stumbin In" Suzi Quatro/Chris Norman....a song I love and I don't know why

7......"Escape (The Pina Colada Song)" Rupert Holmes

2......"Bad Girls" Donna Summer....everytime the 70's station promises Donna in the next hour, I always straighten up

Anyone living at this time?
