Dear Husband and I had supper at the little family owned Italian place in our town tonight. They have regular tiramisu and almond tiramisu. My Mother in law LOVES the almond variety, I decided to have some tonight to see what it was like. (After a nice plate of fettucini in marinara sauce with fresh tomatoes, garlic, basil, mushrooms, and bell pepper... YUM!)

It was good. Sweeter than the original variety I am used to. But instead of soaking the ladyfingers in sweet espresso liquid, they soaked them in amaretto syrup. I *love* amaretto, so I totally loved the flavor. The custard part was the same, the only other difference, it was topped with chopped toasted almonds instead of cocoa powder.

It was good, different, but good. I'll probably stick to the original though, it's not quite as sweet and I prefer semi-sweet desserts. I am wondering if I make it at home, and dip the ladyfingers in actual amaretto, would it be not quite so sweet? I will have to try.
