The great white north, eh?
After years of saving, the family and I are finally going off on a 'real' vacation. Where my son is eager to take surfing lessons. My wife and I are wondering if joining him in that would be fun, or a lesson in embarrasement? Whenever they show surfers they are young and extremely thin, but I don't know if that is just the ones that show up in pictures, or that the people usually willing to stand on surfboards for all to see are the super toned folk, or if it is that surfing is that physically demanding that if you are carrying an extra 60-80 pounds (as in our case) that it is not apt to go well?

So I guess I'm wondering, any of the not-too-thin folk around here surf? Or for that matter do any of you surf and have a comment on how demanding it is?
