They had a brief, but mostly positive, discussion about fat acceptance. There was the usual "isn't it just a cop out" schtick but there was also a lot of very positive things said about being bigger than a size two. Surprisingly, their medical correspondent was very outspoken about how doctors treat fat people poorly and hate treating them and both correspondents agreed that shaming people doesn't help them lose weight. The other correspondent (sorry, I didn't catch names) feels like the whole "you must have a BMI of x to be healthy" was really sabotaging a lot of people who can't ever achieve that and that it's better to help people find healthy foods they like, and exercise they enjoy, to encourage healthy lifestyles.
Most encouraging to me was the comment that "The BMI isn't the be all and end all" and that hip/waist measurement is more predictive. It's about friggin' time!
