My sister found a painting in an antique mall. It's oil on canvas, an original. Signed HOMER (Winslow Homer) dated 1892. It's a picture of a deer, with mountains in the background. The woman selling the painting wanted $68 for it. Obviously, she has no idea of the value.

Aside from a general class in college, I know very little about art. I do know that Winslow Homer was very famous, and I'm assuming that this painting will be valuable. I don't know how or where to get it appraised. Any suggestions?
