Mother Theresa's Humility List:
1. Speak as little as possible about yourself.
2. Keep busy with your own affairs and not those of others.
3. Avoid curiosity.
4. Do not interfere in the affairs of others.
5. Accept small irritations with good humor.
6. Do not dwell on the faults of others.
7. Accept censures even if unmerited.
8. Give in to the will of others.
9. Accept insults and injuries.
10. Accept contempt, being forgotten and disregarded.
11. Accept injuries and insults.
12. Be courteous and delicate even when provoked by someone.
13. Do not seek to be admired and loved.
14. Do not protect yourself behind your own dignity.
15. Give in, in discussions, even when you are right.
16. Always choose the more difficult task.

It seems like everyone is so wrapped up in having confidence that humbleness has fallen by the wayside. Everything is so competitive that people constantly blow their own horns. (I've been guilty of this myself.) It's as if humility is considered a vice now, instead of the virtue it used to be.
So what do you think of Mother Theresa's list? Do you think these rules don't have value in our society today? That they might even hinder advancement? Looking at this list, do you think that you are humble?
I've been trying to practice some of the things on this list, for my own peace of mind. I tell you, they are hard! 1, 10, 12, 13 and 15 are kicking my ass, lol. It's really hard for me to not seek approval and love. It's hard to not want attention, sometimes. It's hard to not want to be right.
Anyway, hope this gets people thinking, and gets some replies. I'm looking forward to knowing what you all think.
