I'm just wondering everyone else's opinion. I was recently and (and still kind of am) in this situation.
She feels quite disgusted and disconnected from her husband for the following reasons: My friends' husband has been quite lax in the hygiene area. She feels he betrayed her on some business dealings between himself and his "friend" (the "friend" had her husband purchase logging equipment to the tune of 50-100,000 dollars) soon afterwards this friend cut her husband out of the business without compensating for the equipment and kept all the equipment. Her husband did not get anything in writing (he's a very trusting country man) and they could not get anything out of this "friend" except for being sued by someone else he screwed over for $20,000. They were able to get out of the lawsuit because there was no paper trail connecting her husband to the business (only good thing that came of not signing his name to the business). Because of the bad deals he made they had to sell 2 large parcels of land and they are still in debt. He's become a sick man with a muscle degenerative disease (this disease will eat away at his muscles so bad that it is a killing disease) and he is only in the first stage of it.
Now that you know a little about her husband they have been married for over 14 years (3 grown children from her previous marriage) and she has been working for the legal system dealing with detention center guards. One of these guards has had her in such a state of lust that she has told me she would have gone home with him one night if he had asked. Now the guard knows she is married and was in the middle of divorce himself and is not the kind of person to encourage an affair.
But she has asked me what do I think and do I think she'll burn in hell for having these thoughts and desires.
My opinion was that I am her friend, not her husbands and that I would support whatever decision she makes and that it's not my job as a friend to be judgemental. I also said I don't think she would actually carry through with it (even though she said she would). Now nothing has happened except for her still being in a state of lust and believing she's in love with this man (neither one has actually confronted the other about their emotions, therefore she doesn't even know if he feels the same way, but I believe he does according to what she's told me).
So I'm just curious what other peoples opinions are...would you have supported her like I did or told her her feelings were wrong and be grateful for her husband?
