Well today I am exactly 17 weeks and 5 days pregnant!
Which means my 20 week scan is coming up soon, the biggie! Depending on whether or not the baby co-operates lol, we should be able to find out the sex at this scan. That is if we can make up our minds whether to or not!!
Thing is I really, really, really want a girl and pretty much have my heart set on it being a girl, so think I should find out so I can start loving the idea of a boy if it is one lol!
Anyhoo the reason I updated today...
Went for my regular check up at my docs. He just does my weight, blood pressure and has a chat with me. Feels my belly and so on, and thats usually it.
Got weighed and have somehow lost more weight, meaning I have now lost 34lbs since getting pregnant!!! Initially this was down to me having no appetite whatsoever, but now I am eating again properly. So really we don't know why I have lost so much.
He says he isn't worried though as he can feel baby, my bump is starting to grow, my belly is getting quite hard and all my vitals are spot on now, meaning my blood pressure isn't low anymore
Well, as I thought this was just a wee check up, I didn't even take George along as he is off to see Megadeth tonight!! Now I wish I had taken him!!
Because....
I HEARD BABY'S HEARTBEAT FOR THE FIRST TIME!!
It was a total surprise, I didn't know he was even going to check for it yet but he had a wee handheld scanner and decided to try. Told me not to get my hopes up as it was still early days etc, but as soon as the scanner hit my belly there it was!! BBUM-BUM-BBUM-BUM-BBUM!!
I burst into tears, I couldn't believe what I was hearing! I had to get the doctor to convince me it wasn't just my own heartbeat I was hearing lol!!
And poor George missed it. He was so sad. Luckily the doctor said just to call him and he will schedule 5 mins this weekend to see me and George so we can hear it together!
Just had to post and tell you guys! I know its not as good as piccies but you will hopefully get another one of them in 2 weeks after my scan!
For now though, the sound of my baby's heartbeat is still ringing in my ears and I am so, so happy
