And sorry, no pics yet. I may or may not have time to get them off the camera in the next 6 months. I had to promise to bring the camera in to work so people could at least look at them. So if I ever post pics...well, just consider it a bonus:).

I sailed on the Carnival Conquest from Galveston last Sunday. We went to Jamaica, Grand Cayman, and Cozumel.

I really like cruising - it is like a 24/7 pampering vacation. I also allowed myself to do some things I don't usually, like having my hair done for formal night and buying a picture, so my bill was a little higher than usual.

In Jamaica (which is one of my favorite places in the world) I went to the Rocklands Bird Sanctuary, where hummingbirds will come sit on your finger and sip sugar water out of a small bottle. The guy who worked there was an FA (actually we are the preferred body type over there, so I'm not sure the label applies) and took tons of pictures of me feeding the hummingbirds. Finches will also come sit in your hand and eat seeds.

Other than that, I had planned to go to YS Falls, but it was closed, so I did some touring around the Jamaican countryside. Jamaica has fresh water, mountains, and the ocean. They grow a lot of crops - papaya, mango, coconuts, banana, sugarcane, and a small amount of rice. Lots of people keep chickens and goats. It is a very poor country. $1 US is worth $67 Jamaican, so I am a Jamaican millionaire. I am keeping it in mind as a retirement destination as you can buy a very nice house for $50,000 US - $3,350,000 Jamaican roughly, if my math is correct. Also, the men on that island love me. That is the only place in the entire world that anyone ever tries to pick me up. And the women make jealous comments about my hips. It is truly twilight zone time.

Grand Cayman - I went swimming with stingrays, and snorkeling at the Coral Gardens. Stingrays are awesome. The tour guide took some pictures of me holding and kissing the stingray. The tour was not so great - it was a ship tour, which I try to avoid, and crowded, but heck, how often do I get to swim with stingrays? I then did a little shopping in GC. Bought a scarf and a t-shirt. They have great perfume prices, but gotta save something for next time.

Cozumel - "shopped til I dropped" here. Got 2 new pieces of bling - one ring, sterling with amethysts, $35, another ring, sterling with amethysts, $30. One wrap, a couple of t-shirts, and some liquor. Also got a liter of Sheridan's on the ship.

Sheridan's is a wonderful liquor that you can't get in the U.S. It is coffee flavored but much better than Bailey's. Here is a link to more info:

I spent a lot of time sleeping and just decompressing, too. I hope the relaxed feeling lasts at least a week!
