"Her entire life, Becca Wassermans (Marissa Jaret Winokur) family and friends knew she was someone special, even if on the outside she didnt exactly emulate societys vision of perfection. So she isnt stick thin, but Becca does have smarts, a great fiancé, the love of her family and friends, and most of all, chutzpah. "

Did anyone else see this last night? We caught the last 20 min or so...enough for me to be mildly surprised to see something like it on mainstream tv.
It was about a mid-size girl who joined a beauty pageant, with no apologies about her size. As her talent in the pageant, she sang a song which basically stated "I'm beautiful because I believe I am, so others will think I'm beautiful too". I didn't see the entire thing, so I don't know how many cheap shots about her weight were in it, but it seemed like a genuine step in the right direction. It involved a girl who was outside the standard of beauty with healthy self-esteem, a very handsome man in her life, and the confidence to put herself out there to compete with the typical "beauty queens". She finished second runner-up.
