I don't bite too much...
Hey all. This is my first dims post, and I guess it is sort of off topic, and nothing to do with weight issues what so ever, but anyways here I go.
I'm a college student who's majoring in Psychology and Religious studies at a school near Boston. I'm also an atheist (well for lack of a better word...) In one of my religious studies classes this week we had a psychic come in and give us her life story, her experiences, what she does, etc... The topic of this class is dreams and the sacred, so this wasn't exactly unexplored territory for my peers and myself.
So the talk was very interesting and informative. What really blew me away, however, was the demonstrations she did.
First of all we did a meditation/centering exercise with our third eye chakra (in the middle of your forehead). She went around the room and touched everyones third eye with her finger. Now when she touched mine, it tingled. Some of my friends described it as a reflex hammer going off in their heads, and that image works too. Bottom line it was something beyond just merely bringing your attention to this part of your body. This was weird experience number one that I had.
Later on she offered to read some peoples past lives through their palms (palm scrying she called it). I went first, and I was blown away. First of all my hand became ice cold as soon as she started and started to shake a bit (My friend touched my hand she read and agreed with me, and then touched the hand she didn't read, which she described as normal). Second of all her eyes really did look like they were looking into my soul (I felt at one point that I could see my True Self in her eyes). Her eyes in general were really reflective, I could see the entire room when I made eye contact with her.
But when she started doing my reading, it got really spooky. She nailed my personality, my interests (in both Psychology and Religion) as well as how I tend to be an observer, and that my mission in life is to help people. All that she knew beforehand was my first name, Adam.
Everyone in the class that knows me felt spooked by how accurate she was. Hell I was really freaking spooked. I felt invaded, but not in a negative way. I'm used to people trying to get into my head from my counseling classes and from my own experiences, but never before has someone gotten into my soul. And I don't even really believe in the soul (at least not exactly how most people think of it).
So my question to you, great folks of dims (and forgive all of the exposition above) is if you've ever had some spooky supernatural experience. Or as my professor calls it "Has weird ass shit ever happened to you?"
And if you so wish it, feel free to give your feelings on the supernatural and the spiritual world. I'm open to any questions you may have.
And also please pardon my use of parentheses... I rather enjoy using them.
