I'm listening to Randy Bachman's Vinyl Tap (Randy Bachman was part of the Guess Who and BTO (Bachman-Turner Overdrive), but for the last couple of years he's hosted a show on Friday nights on CBC radio looking back at the 'vinyl' period of rock and pop music. It is kind of cool, as he has interacted with quite a few of the performers at some point in his long career).
Tonight's show is about the 50s-60s record company VJ records. They wer from around Chicago, recording mostly what was viewed at the time as 'black' music. One of their first hits was from the Eldorados, a song called Bim-Bam-Boom. One part of that song caught my attention, the description of the dream girl knocking on the guy's back door:
She was a foxy little lilah with great big hips
Pretty long hair and ruby red lips
Five feet two and eyes of blue
(later on a friend says that was not how she looked at all, she actually looked like an escapee from the zoo--the implication being that this original description was all complimentary). I love how even going back fifty years you still find these little passing compliments on gals with big hips

PS. Randy Bachman himself had gotten pretty fat at one point. On one show earlier this year he mentioned that a couple of years ago he got weight loss surgery.
