The push for all cops to wear body cameras can help cops as well as the public. A recent shooting in Cleveland was recorded by body cameras. The footage showed officers doing an exceptional job under very dangerous conditions. The suspect was ultimately killed but only as a last resort.
Responding the a domestic violence call Cleveland PD Patrolman David Muniz was shot in his vest by a dispondent Theodore Johnson. Despite being shot Patrolman Muniz tries to talk Johnson down:
"I know you shot me, but I'm not going to shoot you," Muniz tells Johnson.
Johnson says he doesn't care. "Do what you do, man."

"I wanna die," Johnson says.
"No, you don't want to die," Muniz replies.
