As KPFA wends its way through a fund drive, its hip hop program, Hard Knock Radio, has Boots Riley on. The Coup has a new album out called Pick a Bigger Weapon.
They just played Tiffany Hall, in which Boots describes an old schoolmate who went on to become very involved in Black Power politics. Unfortunately, even that exposure did not immunize his lady panther friend to feelings of doubt about her figure, and as he raps in his piece, he hears the shocking news that his comrade had gotten liposuction, only to die at home the same night from pulmonary embolisms.
