Cable, DirectTV, or Dish

Which do you prefer and why? It seems that DirectTV has the best lineup, but they require a landline phone to use their DVR. I haven't had a landline phone in well over a year, and I hate to get one just for a DVR.

Those of you without a TV, sorry, but they will pry my DVR control from my cold, dead hands...
