Dear Forum,
My Mom has gall stones and they have been causing her some excrutiating pain. I believe that she has cholesterol stones, since pigment stones do not seem fit her symptomatic description.
I love her very much and am quite worried about her. She is a very caring and sweet woman and she's the only Mom I got. I guess that right now I feel really saddened because I am all of the way in Minnesota while she is in Arkansas.
She doesn't have any health insurance for surgery and she fears losing her home or possibly going bankrupt. I want to help her out the best way that I know how. I've been chatting and talking with her about it. She is trying to stay positive and so am I. I woke up and the very first thing that I thought about was her.
Right now, I don't of any other family members that can help her out or are willing to help her out in this matter. What frustrates me is that her Dad, my Grandpa, will send prayers but he will always pull the "I'm broke" speech, when in reality he's not really broke at all. So she dares not even ask him because she wishes not to hear NO and likewise feel even more hurt.
Could you send your thoughts and prayers along her way and mine, pretty please. I appreciate PMs, if you'd like to send one to me.
If possible, could any of you offer some helpful advice about ways that my Mom might be able to better handle her medical expenses or things that she might be able to do since she currently does not have any medical insurance. She's looking to see if there is a teaching hospital that could possibly do the surgery for her.
I am going to plan on flying to Arkansas and staying with Sister, mainly because I have been homesick. I've been planning on going back to Arkansas even before I found out the news about my Mom. Right now, I wish that was already there.
Thanks forum and fellow posters for reading this.
Sincerely, Jeff (Swamptoad)
