OK, so I'm getting ready to retire my Blackberry. I've had it for 2 years, so now comes the time for a free upgrade ("free" meaning that I sign another 2 year contract). Verizon is actually offering some real deals right now -- 5 phone models that are free, and several more that would be available for a small charge (from $30-50). I have to admit, I'm technologically challenged. We converted from laptops to tablets at work and I am REALLY and I mean freaking REALLY struggling with figuring out how to access and use the software upgrades. The keyboard sucks, the layout is strange. Yet my younger colleagues are thrilled with them. So it could be me. Yeah, probably is.

Anyway, on to a cell phone: I'm really interested in the bells 'n whistles, if they are easy to find and access. I don't know what 3G means. There. I admit it. I also don't know what other kinds of things cell phones can be used for, aside from Bluetooth (which I use with my work phone) and music apps (which I haven't figured out how to use at all). What else is there?

Finally, if anyone has any of the following phones, I'd really appreciate a mini-review. Just a simple what you like, what you don't like, and what you use the phone for:

Android X ($99)
LG Ally (FREE)
(These are both listed as Android phones -- I haven't a clue what that means, either)

Palm Pixi Plus (FREE)
HTZ Ozone (FREE)
HTC Imagio ($50)
Samsung Omnia II ($30)
Motorola Devour ($80)
Palm Pre Plus ($50)

The other "free" models are Blackberry, and I'm not interested in getting a slightly newer version of the same phone. I want to fly free.

Any suggestions from the techno-geeks?
