Thursday morning before her swing shift job began, at Jane’s suggestion, Sierra opted to spend some bucks on a truly stunning dinner dress for her Saturday evening date with Paul. It was a loose size 14, which made her cringe for a moment but it looked stunning. It had a deep cleavage cut that emphasized her breasts. They were not large in comparison to her rear and growing belly, but ample enough to draw attention. Sierra was adapting rapidly to life in the fat lane.

That evening her transition continued. She still lacked a full length mirror but she did some research internet research while snacking on a plate of a dozen microwave cheese and green chile empanadas. They were tasty, but left a hot taste in her mouth, which she relieved by opting for a large bowl of ice cream.

While grazing she found numerous BBW sites featuring women who looked vibrant despite weighing well over 200 pounds. She began to understand what attracted men like Paul. “Maybe,” she mused, Jane is right. If you have the right guy loving you it is not really so bad being bigger.”

By 11:00 she was ready to retire. Standing at a distance from her dresser mirror her belly was bloated but she had a radiant confidence that expressed newly discovered inner feelings. “OK, Paul,” she thought. “if it s a big package you like, you may be about to get it.”

Friday she set in, grabbing a pancakes. eggs and sausage special at a local diner before work. At work she ate more than any day earlier in the week. Then, after hours, she went home and devoured a couple of pot pies with more ice cream. “I can’t keep doing this for long,” she thought, “but its nice – and I’ll have a totally stretched tummy to drive Paul wild with!”

Saturday she had no work requirement, so she slept in until noon, then had some leftover muffins from work. “I don’t dare fill up too much,” she thought. “Paul gets his chance,”

At 6:00 sharp he arrived. She was dressed in her new dinner gown as though she were going to a cotillion dance. Paul was astonished – he’d expected a shy, slightly chubby and insecure girl – he was greeted by a gorgeous and radiant woman. “Glad you’re on time,” she said. “I haven’t eaten since noon and I’m starved!”

Paul, who worked for a car dealership, had borrowed one of the agencies full size demo cars. He gracefully escorted Sheila to the curb and opened the door. She got in, impressed by the extra effort. He drove them to Buca di Beppo, an Italian chain well known for its extremely generous portions. Turning the car over to a valet he escorted Sheila inside.

The place was noisy, with totally unrelated patrons seated at long tables in an atmosphere reminiscent of the American speakeasies of the twenties. Paul joked and spoke with others at the table, periodically praising Sheila with kind comments. The food was predictably spectacular with ample portions. Sierra dug in hungrily as did Paul. .

In a little over two hours they were through. Paul drove to a turnout overlooking a local lake and parked. “Well,” he said, “Now that we’re away from all that noise we can talk!”

“Indeed,” replied Sierra, “and that meal was outstanding. Thanks for picking that place out. I’ve been more used to fast food.”

“I could tell you liked it – there are many other equally nice places if you want to explore. I’m somewhat of an epicurean connoisseur – I like good food and nice settings.”

“As long as you don’t mind if I wind up packing on a few pounds during the process” Sierra heard herself replying, knowing full well that such expansion was likely what he was hoping for.

“Not an issue,” said Paul “I’ll start compiling the list.” He then changed to the subject, but the die had been cast. His first choice was Roger’s Ranchhouse, whose entrees featured both leg of lamb on Fridays and roast lamb on Saturday afternoon and evening. Over the next few months Sierra would once again become oblivious to the scale question. Full blown weekend dinners and snacking plus ample weekday eating became the norm.

Meanwhile the prospective bride, Mary, was having problems of her own. She and her fiancé, CPA Brandon Whitaker, had spent the holidays visiting relatives on both sides of the new family. She discovered in January that he had since September regained 12 of the 22 pounds she had lost. She was back to her size 18 outfits

“Don’t worry about it,” Brandon said, “I never wanted a stick figure wife to begin with.” He even plied her with chocolate covered cherries as a treat and token of his sincerity. But she was uncertain.

In private she grasped a huge handful of belly fat. Part of her reacted with disgust, but another bade her to stroke and caress it. As she did so she felt an inner warmth and comfort she couldn’t explain. She began nibbling on the chocolate cherries, which soon disappeared. Their residual taste, however, left her craving ice cream, of which a half quart of strawberry ripple remained in the refrigerator. Soon it was gone and she was contentedly asleep

Mary shared a three bedroom apartment with two other girls, one of whom was Brandon’s sister Helen – herself a self-confident moderately plump BBW with a talent and love for cooking. Roxanne, the third roommate, was an outgoing but thinnish person with a high metabolism who enjoyed eating anything in sight with no seeming consequences. Unknown to Mary, Brandon had discussed his weight concerns about his fiance with Helen. “Its nuts,” he had said. “We know diets are self-defeating and a pain to everyone. Do you think you could somehow manage to cut out this constant worrying?

“I know what you mean, but she sees me as a roommate, not an advisor,” Helen replied. “If I had the money I could perhaps do more of the cooking like Mom used to and keep her mind off of food, but right now everybody does things separately so I just don’t know what leverage I’d have.”

A light went on in Brandon’s head. “If you had the money you would do that? What about a prize of $500 in supermarket gift certificates? Would that help until the wedding day?”

Helen caught the concept and grinned. ”Well, for starters we could have breakfast every morning, and keep the pantry supplied with snacks. Since it will be all my effort and money I don’t think anyone will object.”

The next day Helen announced her good fortune and showed off the gift certificates to her roommates. “For the next few months just let me know what you’d like and I consider preparing it.”

“Does that include French toast, burritos and quiche,” asked Roxanne.

“Crepes and waffles as well if you want them. All that I require is that we all have the same thing on any given day – I’m cooking, not running a restaurant.”

Mary found herself succumbing to the enthusiasm of her roommates as a menu was laid out that included everything from tofu to casseroles. Waldorf salads to refried ice cream “You’re really going to put me thru my paces,” exclaimed Helen – fully realizing that there was no way Mary could try dieting with all this food available.

A month later it was time to be fitted for the wedding party. Mary met with Jane and Sierra. Jane by now was into a size 20, Sierra was in the verge of needing a size 16. Mary found herself relieved – at a snug size 18 she was just between her two friends in size. She decided to forget her weight concerns The salon seamstress took note of the three ample figures and quietly allocated extra fabric for possible last minute alterations.

After the fitting was over Jane announced that she was treating everyone to a mid-after banana split. Neither Mary or Sierra objected. In fact, before the afternoon was over the three friends had agreed to stay in touch by getting together each week until the wedding. None would be lo-cal.

Each of the girls followed a slightly differed routine Jane, living with Tom, prepared generous breakfasts that were complimented by ample meals and occasional evening snacks. She seemed to have plateaued at somewhere over 200 and had nary a complaint from her boyfriend.

Sierra was being catered to by Paul plus resuming her customary snacking. Her weight continued to climb at a steady five pounds or so a month.

The remarkable sidenote was Roxanne. Freed of the responsibility for paying for her own food she obliged Helen by helping with cleanup, making sure there were few leftovers along he way. If the roommate had three pancakes, she had five. If Helen served things family style her portions were the largest – including usually seconds. If there were leftovers in the refrigerator she would raid it at night. “I really need to gain a few pounds,” she confided to Helen – “Maybe this is the time to try doing it.” To their mutual surprise by the time of wedding rehearsals she’d gained five pounds.

Roxanne’s eating had the effect of tempering Mary’s concerns. The latter was filled with wedding plans jitters. She was totally relieved to let Helen take over cooking chores. Mary also tended to constantly nibble here and there during the day. She was quietly packing on 3-4 pounds for each of the three months until the big day.

As the wedding party gathered for the rehearsal Sierra was typically oblivious to how big she was becoming. She was happy and in love – and Paul was adroitly keeping it that way. Jane was comfortable as well. Mary, buoyed by her fiance’s reassurances plus those of her roommates no longer felt out of control- even though she’d gained over ten pounds.

On the day of the wedding Mary weighed in at a solid 172 but was the lightest of those actually in the ceremony. Sierra was a snug size 18 at 183, while Jane at 224 was wearing size 20 outfits. Sierra felt like a sausage in her dress, but soon forgot about it at the reception and post ceremony dinner dance. Paul presented her with a box and ring and they announced their engagement. By the time they were married a year later she was slightly larger than her friend Jane at 230 pounds.

Jane and Tom were eventually married in a private ceremony aboard a cruise ship in the Caribbean. Helen completed graduate school and ultimately found a FA of her own as well; at a tall 5-10 she carried her 260 pounds magnificently. As for Roxanne, she eventually tired of the torrid eating pace needed for her to gain weight and settled in at 145 – which is at least normal for her 5’ 6”’ height. At this writing she is still single at age 26.
