In the past, I have always avoided the comic book stores in the malls. They reminded me of those nerdy little boys from middle school, and it has just always been one of those things that I've avoided with no reason at all. Star Wars and video games go in this category as well.
But please don't hate me!
I was considering dating this old friend (who ironically, I met in middle school), and he loves comic books, Star Wars, and video games. SO, I bit the bullet and actually went to a comic book store and bought a graphic novel. And you know what? I loved it! I started talking to another girl friend about it, and found out that she and her boyfriend are really into comics too! It's like this entire world that I didn't know existed. So how many of you love comic books? I need some guidance here! I've read Kingdom Come, Identity Crisis, and something about Batman. I got the Watchmen, but I haven't read it yet since I'm sick.
What should I read next? Is Star Wars really everything it's supposed to be (I haven't seen any of them)? Someone give me some direction! I am jumping head first into the deep end of something I'm completely unfamiliar with. The boy turned out to be a skeez, but the comics are definately staying!
