OK....the last one was posted on November 7th and petered out, but I will just keep doing new ones as the old ones die out, so there, nanner nanner nanner! I am dogged and committed about this, so clear the way and get the drafting boards out!
I am really thinking about how a community building process might emerge and my first conclusion is that without the desire for a strong community, any assessment of strengths "we" might have is premature...so the first questions would revolve around..what barriers can we identify to the community building process...fear of stigma, fer sure, fear of exposure and vulnerability, fer sure, concern for physical safety, stalker issues...there is a lot out there that stops us from even beginning a virtual community, much less a real community out in the World...so, it would help to just identify where people stop and why....what fears, barriers or concerns hold us back?
I am definitely taking a "social work" approach to this problem, since that is a proven and tested way to solve problems....my favorite social work joke:
"How many social workers does it take to screw in a lightbulb? NONE...they empower the lightbulb to screw itself in!" Wa-hoooooooo!
