I know Hallowe'en's not for another 11 months, but I've thinking ahead to next year. Plus, I thought it might be handy to have a thread devoted to costuming in general, as Hallowe'en isn't the only occasion people celebrate with costumes/unique fashion.

In 2010, I actually want to do a REAL costume, not "special outfits" or period fashion, which tend to be my usual cop-outs. Here are my current favorite ideas:

1) Robert Smith circa Head on the Door/KMx3. I could like, borrow my mother's HUGE blazers and white button-downs, pull on my black leggings, get some massive hightops, rat my hair, do my lips as usual, and put on a gob of eyeliner.

2) Fat Nagel Chick. I'm thinking the alternate Rio image; not the head-on faceshot that made the Duran Duran album cover, but the one with the model with her knees up. I found a tube top in just the right color at American Apparel that might work. I have the big yellow hair flower. The earrings would be easy to find or make. Not sure about the purple capris, but I could sew something if necessary.

What about you? :D
