My late wife Katy's most infamous stage role was with the Ridiculous Theatrical Company, in SALAAMBO- Charles Ludlam's take on the Flaubert play with Katy as Hanno, the leprous Carthaginian general. Willis slammed Ludlam in the VILLAGE VOICE for daring to use a 450lb actress... 'exploiting and objectifying'... Katy came back with a blistering Letter to the Editor undercutting Willis' assumptions. Willis was ten years older than Katy and outlived her only by 7 1/2 months;:doh: expiring of lung cancer from cigarettes which presumably kept her svelte...
