For those of you who followed the story of my boss and her husband who had adopted a baby and after almost 10 weeks had to give her back to her birth mother, here is an update.

They signed with another adoption agency, so they were listed with 2. After only 3 days they were submitted as one of 4 couples to a birth mom. They were her second choice. They were sad, but knew that it was a very short wait, almost too good to be true. Well , last week they got a call that the first couple backed out, due to not wanting a bi-racial baby after all. My boss does originally had wanted to adopt a caucasian baby. After the failed adoption, she realized she just really wanted a baby to love, and they opened the races they were open to adopting. So , because the first family backed out, they were then the moms choice, They found out about 10 days ago it was a sure match.

We quicly bought all that was needed and tried to get everything ready. They left for Utah on Sunday, as that is where the baby is being born. Its a girl, and the baby is going to be born tomorrow. The birth mom is being induced. The birth mom is 22 and this would be her 4th child, she has a 6,4 and 2 year old. She seems really commited to the adoption and has been being counseled for 6 months. Her family supports her fully in the decision as well. It seems like a really good situation.

They have been there a few days, and have met and spent a few days with the birth mom and her kids and its been great.

Her husband can only take 1 week off of work due to the amount of time he took off for the first adoption, so he must fly home on Sat night, and I fly out to Utah on Staurday to stay the next week there with my boss and the new baby! Im excited and can not wait to meet this new little girl.

I hope you all will keep your fingers crossed that this is a good situation and works out. The wait in Utah is only 24 hours, instead of the 60 days here in CT, so the process will be very quick. So many bad things have happened to this great family, that they are really due for something great!
