After listening to the excellent BBC Radio 4 special history of Obesity (which can be heard on this link and is highly recommeded: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00td9fr#synopsis ), I was particularly taken with the biography of Daniel Lambert, at the time, England's Fattest Man. There's a museum dedicated to him, and he's actually a well respected figure in British history. I even found a short bio on him on YouTube which was quite fascinating. Yes, there's an actor in a fat suit portraying him, but it's not done in a malicious or mean-spirited manner, and Lambert is treated quite respectfully. When I visited Manchester, England some years ago, I went to one of the historical art museums and found an illustration of Daniel Lambert which I found intriguing. I wonder if Lambert's image sort of inspired me to create Tiny? Hmmmmm.
Anyway, here's a link to the YouTube video and links to the Daniel Lambert museum and other biographical material.
