I was in the mood for a chocolate cake this evening, and I found this recipe in my Hershey's Dessert Recipe book:
Heat oven to 350. Grease and flour two 9-inch round baking pans or one 13x9 baking pan.
In large mixer bowl, stir together 2 cups sugar, 1 3/4 cups flour, 3/4 cup Cocoa, 1 1/2 teas baking powder, 1/2 teas baking soda, and 1 teas salt.
Add 2 eggs, 1 cup milk, 1/2 cup vegatable oil, and 2 teas. vanilla.
Beat at least 2 minutes on medium speed.
Remove from mixer. Add 1 cup boiling water, and stir in. (batter will be thin)
Pour into pan(s).
Bake 30 to 35 minutes for round pans, 35 to 40 for rectange pan, or until wooden pick inserted into center comes out clean.
Cool 10 minutes. remove from pans to wire rack(s). Cool completely.
Frost as desired (personally, I'm going to make the 1 layer version, and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
