There's a crapload of gray area between lust and love. Whether or not we're actually looking for love or even have a semi-precise understanding of what love might be, most of us seem to perceive and assume that love is a Cultural Big Deal, if not the actual zenith of emotional experience. Even people who don't really believe in it are kinda forced to confront the Overwhelmingly Powerful Love Paradigm, even if it is only to rebel against it.

So, how do you define love? Do you believe that there are different kinds or levels or romantic love? Where do you draw lines between the levels of emotional attachment (from physical attaction on up), if you do so at all? Why? How do you define the varying degrees of attachment that crop up under "relationshippy" circumstances?

Do you believe that love is something that must be cultivated and earned over time to be real? Or is it a feeling or sense of being that can exist or be perceived fairly quickly?

Do you discern a significant difference between pure emotional attachment and ego attachment? Do you believe that many - even most - instances of attraction/attachment have the potential to grow into love if given the opportunity? Beyond a certain point, do you find that you accord certain levels of attachment more respect than others?

Just curious.
