As many of you know, I LOVE COOKING! One thing I haven't really talked about is how I love cooking for children and teaching them proper eating habits. I know first hand how hard it is being a diabetic and if I can help one child...then all my hard work is worth it.
So there was a cook job available, I only had a few of the qualifications and I thought what the hell.
I got a call for an interview, started off calling the lady the wrong name:doh: LOL I thought omg why continue on. She just laughed and said she has been called worse in her life.
As she was explaining the program I was becoming more interested. As we were talking about nutrition, I let it slip that I was a diabetic. Strike 2 I thought.
Interview went very well. She said she would call me by Monday. My interview was at 11 am yesterday, and by 2 pm she was calling all my references! So my references told me this is a very good thing. I still won't get my hopes up.
I still don't know that I have the job or not, but she said it was a definite asset that I have diabetes. Even if I don't get the job, she actually made me feel like I'm not a "lady with diabetes" but a "lady who knows how to deal with diabetes". She really made good.
I know I'm babbling, but it's just because I'm excited...and I really hope to get the job. Full benefits(including massages) and 2 bucks more an hour!!
