As a BBW, do you find that sometimes others find it difficult to look you in the eye when addressing or talking to you due to your weight? Do you notice any difference in how you are treated overall?

If you've been a smaller size, have you noticed a change or difference in this behavior? Meaning that the lack of eye contact decreased when you were smaller.

I've experienced this, mostly from men who have "mainstream" body standards. Not everyone does this of course, but there are some people who are just uncomfortable being around larger women. It's like they are afraid that if they treat you like a a human being, then they are sending signals of being attracted to you and *gasp*, they surely don't want to do that. I'll notice a big difference in how they relate to and chat with other women. They smile more and act more naturally and comfortably...but as soon as they address you, the behavior becomes a bit more serious and again stiff.

From women, I'll get the condescending attitude more than the lack of eye contact. Extra nice or dismissive behavior even.

For example from women, if you show any sense of sensuality, they'll be this disbelief that you can be sexual/sexy or feel very feminine as a plus-sized woman and they'll be statements about how fat some skinny woman thinks she is in front of your presence...to further bring this home.

Additionally, these types of women will be nicer to you when you have more weight, but less nice if you happen to lose any weight/get smaller...and god forbid you mention that you are engaged because it's so shocking that someone wants to marry you.

Stuff like that.

Anyone experience these type of things? What were some of your experiences?
