This month's cuts to low income food assistance (SNAP) rates as one of the most disgraceful governmental actions in recent memory. With almost all the fruits of our anemic recovery going to the richest sliver of society millions of people are still suffering from unemployment, underemployment, and wage and benefit cuts. To cut back already meager food assistance in this environment is down right immoral. With millions of children dependent upon food assistance we've literally taken food out of the mouths of babies. Every American should feel a little bit sick. Is this what our country has become?
