Ok
I was at the grocery store last night, trying to put together a meal from the various hot food, salads, antipasto, deli sections they had to offer.

I was wandering about the cracker/chip/snack aisle, when I hear a woman.."Ok, go ahead and get your Fritos".I expected the recipient of the 'mommy tone' to be around 6 years old.I glanced up and saw she was talking to her very over the age of 6 hubby."Well, they are 2 for 4 dollars, so you MIGHT AS WELL get 2 bags.I know you will eat one bag, tonight"

I said to the man,"Gee, she really has your number".He was a nice sort and smiled and said,"you bet".She then comes close to me, like we are the best of gal pals and says,"just LOOK at him, he is so damned skinny and yet eats all this junk!"I really thought she was going to poke me in the ribs, like saying, "we are fat bitches, are you not just SO jealous?"(oh..yes...forgot to mention that she was fat..not Mossystate fat..but..still..a fluffyfart)

She is going on and on about how she hates that he 'can' eat all that junk.He makes the universal sign of 'blahblahblahblahblah' with his four fingers coming down on top of zee thumb. You could tell that he just wanted to get away from her neurotic ranting, so he was pushing the cart further up the aisle. As she was got to stepping I said to her.....

"Hey, why don't you take one of those bags of Fritos and just enjoy yourself this evening"

She gave me a nervous lil laugh, but I think she perhaps was surprised that a fellow fat woman did not fall in line with her embarrassment at being caught in the snack aisle.*L*

Funny thing is?..I DO get self-conscious when I am putting sugary or fatty foods into my cart at a store! I feel a bit proud of myself that I kept it friendly and calm and did not apologize for my cravings..:p

And...it's not as if either of us could hide the fact that we do..in fact...visit the chip section on a fairly regular basis..:D
