.Ladies, (and no offense to the good men on this board), do you ever feel like movies/TV have set unrealistic expectations for the perfect BHM? Or just a fantasy BHM? I mean, theres a limited spectrum to chose from in comparison from the conventional mainstream, but still. For example:
John Candy- perfect boyfriend/husband/family man. Whether he's taking his family camping in The Great Outdoors, pining for his family as an accordion player in Home Alone, or chasing Rhea Pearlman across Ontario in Canadian Bacon, the man is all about commitment. Commitment which I cant seem to get.
Al Borland - sweet sensitive, yet rugged handyman type. Al Borland was the perfect guy! C'mon! He had a dry sense of humour, was sexy, and was all about loving the ladies. He was a home repair expert, but with no machismo. The ladies loved Al, and Al loved the ladies. I soo wanted to be Ilene growing up, but without being an orthodontist (ew...mouths..)
Gerard Depardeui - especially as Georges in Green Card. Totally the lovable bad boy with a past. His long hair and accent is what got me when I first saw it. And a talented musician to boot. If I was Andie Macdowell's character Bronte, I wouldve dumped my skinny whiny boyfriend immediately.
Plus, the clip from Germinal where he's getting frisky with his wife after she gives him a bath. Hot.
And of course, Youtube's The Amazing Atheist. I gotta admit, there's something sexy about a BHM whose confident about his body, and could get up in my face with opposing opinions.
Your turn.
