this is an invitation to put being fat into perspective as persecution. i'm not trying to diminish anyone's difficulties in any way, but you know sometimes it helps to just mull over how other people are going through worse. it can help us to put our own lives into perspective and maybe handle things better--or can it? for me it does but it may not for someone else and i respect that. but here is an invitation for the people who would like to to put whatever negatives there are in being fat for them into it's proper place--whatever that may personally be.

my own personal take:

this is not a post about the trial or the politics of it. this is a post about perspective. next time someone looks at us the wrong way or says or does something stupid because we are fat it might help to remember there is a big difference between that and chasing us down with a gun and killing us. the Trayvon Martin case made me think of that. i'm not saying to accept prejudice at all but what i am saying is wee need to be sure to enjoy our fat lives :) plenty of people love us! and tg people don't usually see us as that kind of a threat.
