This happened to me on Friday... I had to share.....

I was heading into our "downtown" area to meet a friend to go to a luncheon where the Irish Man and Woman of the year are honored. I hopped on the highway, like I do every day, and was behind a large semi-hauling truck. He was empty. Well, I'm behind him, minding my own business, and I look up and see a rock, about the size of a bowling ball, flying towards me. I flinched, and BAM! It slammed into my windshield! I hear the crashing thud and feel glass spray me. I opened my eyes and see this huge crashed, dented windshield and glass everywhere. Now this all happens in a split second. Fortunately, I didn't lose control of the vehicle and there was no one else around. I tried to get the license of the truck, but it was too dirty. I did get the name of the trucking company. I immediately called my boss. I continued to drive, as there was nothing wrong with my SUV. I continued to my destination, albeit quite shook up. I think I was stunned more than anything.

When I returned to work after the luncheon, my windshield was the talk of the office/shop. All our shop workers came out to look. I spoke with my insurance company and she informed me that unless the "boulder" came off his load, the trucking company is not responsible for anything. We think that it came from between the double tires, that it was lodged there.

The real bonus is, my boss offered to have our company pay for the windshield replacement. I was thrilled and grateful. He arranged for the windshield replacement guy to come to my house Saturday morning. It's all repaired!

Fortunately for me, I wasn't hurt, didn't get cut up, and the "boulder" didn't come through the windshield..which still surprises me... and everyone else!!

By-the-way... the luncheon was GREAT! LOLOL :)

Here's a couple of pics.....
