No fat no flavor
I am wondering if this happens to anyone else. Every once in a while I will enjoy a meal and afterwards I feel as though I'm a little high...very happy...or even zen like. I used to think it meant I stopped at the exact right time - not too full, and not still hungry. Just total happy satisfaction.
But I think it might be more than that. Might be something about the food. Or something about my feelings about the food.
Not sure.
Just now I returned from a farmer's market and bought some great summery produce and other treats. I sat down and ate 2 big fat ripe jersey tomatoes (my first of the season) with sea salt, fresh cracked black pepper and a little mayo, a couple of thick slices of the best fresh mozzarella I've even found, and an incredible little baguette from a well-known NJ bakery, slathered with butter. Afterwards I just wanted to sit in a comfy chair and contemplate my good fortune and appreciate what I'd just experienced. I realized I was in my food euphoric state, but this time it was understandable since I was so incredibly happy with that meal.
Does anyone else ever have that sensation? What do you think causes it?
