Simple thread - share your foodie experiences with culinary adventures that surprised you (in a good way). Perhaps you had your meat cooked a different way. Maybe you got crazy with a new fruit or vegetable. Or you tried some food from a different part of the world and loved it. Either way, post some times when you tried a new food and it was better than you thought it would be.
Me: I went to CiCi's pizza the other day with some friends. I got what I believed to be a normal slice of cheese pizza. However, one of my friends informed me that it was a "barbecue pizza," with barbeque sauce in lieu of marinara, which made me a little nervous. I'm a big lover of marinara sauce, and though I love barbeque sauce, I felt that this was not the appropriate setting. Took a bite, and LOVED IT. Suffice it to say, I went back for seconds (and thirds).
