His funeral is taking place right now & although i can't be with there my thoughts are.
I walked through the fields
With the sun on my face,
And the breeze ruffling my hair.
But i didn't need to look round
To know you were there.
Memories stirred within me:
Re-living the good,
Letting go of the bad;
Closing the gulf between us
That we had recently had.
You can rest in peace now.
I don't need you by my side
To know how much you cared.
I know that from all the memories
Of everything we'd shared.
The boys & i will be fine.
We're sad & we still miss you.
But you raised me to be strong.
We are loved
And we know where we belong.
Whatever life brings us
It's time for a fresh start.
