My friend Nicky & I were talking the other day about growing up as fat girls and we got on the subject of height & weight day at school. You know, the day (usually in gym class) where everyone in school got weighed and measured.
My school used to send home letters to the parents of the fat kids. It ususally went something like "Dear Parent/Guradian, We recently weighed your child at school and it was found that he/she is grossly overweight. He/she weighs ___ and is __feet __inches tall. It is suggested that you see your family doctor to obtain a diet for him/her."
I distinctly remember them using the term 'grossly overweight' because I remember thinking "i'm not gross, i'm just fat."
I know I can't be the only one who dreaded this day. Anyone else have horror stories?
